Celebrate the 4th!

Saturday July 4th, 2009

Time: 10:00am-4:30pm

Cost: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (over 62) and $6 for children 5-17(children 4 and under free).

Join Heritage Hill State Historical Park as we celebrate the birth of our nation. Our Fourth of July festivities are fun for the whole family. Uncle Sam will be strolling through the Park greeting visitors. Don’t forget to ask him how he got his name!

Reading of the Declaration of Independence- 10:45

Join Heritage Hill’s Executive Director, Charles Pelky, as he reads the Declaration of Independence in honor of Independence Day. A reading will take place on the steps of the Allouez Town Hall in our Growing Community.

Spy Letters of the Revolution- 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00

Join us at the Courthouse in the Fur Trade Area to listen to and learn about espionage during the American Revolution.

School of the Soldier- 12:30

Come to Fort Howard and learn how to march like a soldier from the 1830’s. Recruits should fall in on the Parade Ground at Fort Howard by the flag pole.

Watermelon Eating Contest- 12:45

Test your watermelon eating skills and compete to win some great Heritage Hill prizes! The contest will be held in the Growing Community area.

Town Hall Dance- 1:00 to 3:00

The people of our Growing Community will host a dance in celebration of the birth of our nation. This wonderful family activity will take place in the Allouez Town Hall.
