Celebrate the Fourth!

Time: 12:00pm-4:30pm

Cost: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (over 62) and $6 for children 5-17(children 4 and under free).

Join Heritage Hill State Historical Park as we celebrate the birth of our nation. Our Fourth of July festivities are fun for the whole family. Uncle Sam will be strolling through the Park greeting visitors and giving a gift to all children! Don’t forget to ask him how he got his name!

Posting of Colors-12:15

Join the soldiers of Fort Howard as they raise the colors of the United States of America and begin their day of garrison life.

Reading of Declaration of Independence-12:30

Join Heritage Hill’s Executive Director, Charles Pelky, as he reads the Declaration of Independence in honor of Independence Day. A reading will take place on the steps of the Allouez Town Hall in our Growing Community

School of the Soldier-1:30

Come to Fort Howard and learn how to march like a soldier from the 1830s. Recruits should fall in on the Parade Ground at Fort Howard by the flag pole.

Fireman’s Dance-1:00-3:00

The men of the Franklin Hose Company will host a dance in celebration of the birth of our nation. This wonderful family activity will take place in the Allouez Town Hall.

Retiring of the Colors-4:15

The soldiers of Fort Howard will assemble on the Parade Ground to lower and retire the colors for the day.
