This exhibit is a collection of pieces from the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago. The artwork was done by Vietnam Veterans and tells the stories of these soldiers while in Vietnam and the response received upcoming home. Many veterans have used art as a way to express the impact of their war experience when it is difficult to put it into words.
Colonel Tim Lawrie served two tours in Vietnam, received a Purple Heart and Silver Star, later in his military career he led a six man team planning Operation Desert Storm and personally briefed General Colin Powell and President Herbert Walker Bush.
He has a unique perspective on the Vietnam War and has been a military analyst on MSNBC, NBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Network and several local news shows.
