Wool: From Sheep to Shawl

For Grades: K-2nd

A costumed presenter brings wool, farm tools, and a spinning wheel to your classroom. Students learn about washing, carding, and spinning wool, and complete a craft with wool from Heritage Hill sheep in this unique program.

Chaperones: 3 adults required per class

An Immigrant’s Journey

For Grades: 3rd-5th

In this popular program, a costumed presenter shares the struggles and joys of an immigrant’s journey from Germany to America in the mid 19th century. The presentation is illustrated with replica objects and documents drawn from an immigrant’s trunk.

A Fur Trader’s Tale

For Grades: 3rd-5th

Life was full of challenges for the French traders who came to Wisconsin in the 17th and 18th centuries. Our costumed presenter discusses the daily life of a voyageur and shows reproduction items taken from a pack basket. If you do not want the presenter to bring our reproduction musket, please let us know when booking.

A Soldier’s Story

For Grades: 3rd-5th

Our costumed presenter discusses the experiences of Wisconsin soldier Arthur Mac Arthur, a famous Civil War general. The presentation is illustrated with items from a soldier’s knapsack. If you do not want the presenter to bring our reproduction sword, please let us know when booking.

Outreach Logistics

Dates: Jan. 7 - Apr. 18 and Sep. 15 - Dec. 19, 2008

Length: About 1 hour.

Maximum Capacity: 35 students/program.

Fees: $75 for Green Bay schools (those in Green Bay, De Pere, West De Pere, or Ashwaubenon district boundaries). $100 for Brown County Schools. $125 for schools within 1 hour of Heritage Hill.

Duplicate Program Discount: Book more than one of the same outreach program back-to-back on the same day at the same school, and the 2nd program is only $50.
